Family Pic

Welcome to our new and improved homepage! Chris has been promising me that he'll have this up and running for months now and therefore, I haven't been so diligent in keeping our blog updated. However, life has happened and days have turned into weeks which have turned into months and it's been hard to find the time to actually work on this. But, this Thursday was a holiday and Chris was able to take some time to do fun things like create a homepage that he hasn't had time for before. So, hopefully I (we) will be more diligent in updating and creating posts to let our friends and family know what's happening in the life of the Malms. So, ENJOY!!!

Sofia was out in our garden helping me move the rocks and weeds away. When Chris came to take a picture, she just posed like this for literally 10-12 shots. We're not really sure why. :) Maybe she thought she was in trouble. Maybe she just liked that face. :)

Half Marathon

Gothenburg half-marathon

Yesterday was the famous annual half-marathon here in Gothenburg. Over 50,000 people registered and around 35,000 people actually ran. The most ever! People literally come from all over the world to run this race. The electricity and excitement in the air jolts you with a certain surge of energy you just can't experience anywhere else. And there's nearly just as many people on the sides the entire race cheering you on! It's thrilling! Chris and I both ran this year. I had run two years ago (about three weeks before the race, I found out I was nearly 2 months pregnant...interesting), and this is about Chris' 7th time, but this was the first year, we both ran together. I guess not really together considering Chris ran it in 1.29 and I came in a half hour later at 2.03, but it was fun being able to be there together at least. Chris' goal was to get under 1.30, so he's quite pleased, my goal was under 2.00, but I really couldn't have pushed myself anymore than I did, so I can't complain either. Chris isn't experiencing any muscle pain today, and I'm feeling it mostly in my joints, but for the most part, we're both healthy, satisfied, and proud!

Samuel Biking and Sofia Laughing

We finally bought Samuel his first bike complete with training wheels and a shark helmet! He has absolutely LOVED it! It didn't take him long at all to figure it out, and we have been out a couple times a week just riding around our apartment complex. It's so fun for me to see him riding around on his first bike. It makes him seem so much older. He just loves it and it's perfect for Spring/Summer especially now that so many other kids are out with their bikes.

This video is of Sofia laughing at this cute little giggle-doll my mom sent us in our "monthly grandma packages". We haven't really bought so many toys for Sofia because all our toys we have are so unisex that Samuel and Sofia's just shared everything up until now. However, we are quickly realizing how very different little girls and little boys are. For Christmas, she got a baby-stroller, which so LOVES, and the other day we bought her a little hand-purse and now today in grandma's package this little baby doll that has the cutest giggle ever! We gave it to Sofia and she just cracked up! She was pretty quick to put one of her sun-hats on the doll and put in the stroller and go for a stroll around the apt. She hasn't let that doll out of her sight the entire evening and insisted on taking it to bed with her. It's great!
